VALA Committee Members 2016-17
The VALA Committee provides governance, policy and strategic direction for the Association and is made up of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and five general committee members.

David Feighan is the Information and Library Services Manager at Mentone Girls' Grammar School. David has twenty five years’ experience as a librarian within the corporate, government and school sectors. David is active within the profession, he has written numerous articles, presented at conferences, and has ran workshops. He is a past VALA President, and was the VALA2010 Conference Program Chair and the VALA2016 Joint Program Chair http://www.vala.org.au/conferences/vala2016
. David ran the inaugural SLAV eBook survey in 2015 and is on the ALIA eBook and eLending Advisory Committee https://www.alia.org.au/advocacy-and-campaigns/advocacy-campaigns/ebooks-and-elending
. In 2015 David managed the Kerferd Library’s migration to OCLC WorldShare https://www.oclc.org/worldshare.en.html
and as such has experience working in a collaborative cloud based library system environment.
Treasurer - Lian Todd
Bio: Worked for SAGE Publications since 2011. Currently Regional Sales Manager for ANZ & SEA. Strong interest in IT, Libraries and Publishing.

Bio: Ebe Kartus has worked in a number of University libraries. She has also worked in a wide variety of other library environments including Library vendors. Ebe has been a cataloguer for about 25 years and has been a member of the Australian Committee on Cataloguing (ACOC) since 2002, served as ACOC Chair 2003-2011, and is currently the Australian representative on the RDA Steering Committee. She believes we should be sharing data more and adding value to records for all the Library community to utilize. Her next big resource description adventure (hopefully) will be with linked data.

Hugh is Library Systems and Resources Coordinator at Brimbank Libraries. He has worked in libraries since 2001 and been a VALA Committee member since 2014, serving as President in 2016. Hugh has served on the Editorial Board of open-access journal In the Library with the Lead Pipe, and blogs at www.hughrundle.net
. Hugh is excited about open access publishing and open source software, and believes that the library community should be doing more to protect user privacy and online security.
