VALA2018 Conference 13-15 February 2018
Acceptance or otherwise is at the discretion of the Program Committee with notifications sent to the contact author by 31 May 2017.
Authors will be required to indicate their preferred presentation format when submitting an abstract, as follows:
- E-Poster Presentation (NEW to VALA2018)
If an abstract is accepted for a presentation, a full paper is required to be submitted by 18 August 2017. VALA2018 Conference papers undergo a quality peer-review process. Authors will have the opportunity to respond to reviewer input, edit and update papers, with final papers completed by 27 November 2017. Papers will be presented at the Conference in the nominated session.
For the first time, VALA2018 is offering the opportunity for an E-Poster presentation. Accepted authors will prepare their research project within the supplied template to be displayed as a digital poster at the Conference. The template will be issued at the time of acceptance. The displays will be available in the Exhibition Hall for delegates to view and will be available electronically following the Conference. Please note no presentation or paper is required if accepted for an E-Poster.
Authors who wish to be considered for both styles of presentation should nominate the third option for consideration - either a Presentation or an E-Poster Presentation.
VALA2018 is seeking abstracts relevant to the following broad concepts:
- Information access
- Information architecture
- Information management
- Information retrieval
- Information seeking
- Information education and collaboration
- Knowledge representation and reasoning
- Emerging trends and technology
Abstracts with a strong technology, R&D or future focus will be favourably considered.
Authors and co-presenters will be able to register their full or day conference attendance via the Registration Portal from 7 September 2017. One (1) discounted registration is available per paper accepted for presentation at VALA2018.
The invitation to submit an abstract does not constitute an offer to pay travel, accommodation or registration costs associated with the Conference. Similarly, no presenter fee is paid to successful participants.
All presenters must register and pay for the Conference by 27 November 2017 in order for the presentation to be included in the Conference Program.
