VALA is very excited to announce the release of our Workshop program for Tech Camp 2023. Our program spans two days to include four program streams, balancing technical literacy skills with methodologies to support the use of new technologies in the GLAMR sector.
Data | Project Management | Open Source | Search |
---|---|---|---|
Cleaning messy data with Open Refine | Introduction to Agile project management for libraries | Git for Librarians | Search like a ninja |
Data visualisation with Power BI | Retrospectives for library tech projects | Graphic design 101 the Open Source way | Getting data (+ Wikidata) with APIs |
All Tech Camp workshops assume a beginner level with background knowledge in Libraries and Information Management. Tech Camp places a lot of emphasis on practical engagement with new concepts; come ready to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in in a friendly, supportive environment!
In 2023, Tech Camp will be held from July 18 – 19 2023 as an in-person event at the La Trobe City Campus, Level 2/360 Collins Street.
But wait, there’s more?
Yes, there is! Both days of Tech Camp 2023 include a Short Talks Program, with two presentations per stream. That’s eight short talks.
We also have craft-based Birds of Feather (BOF) sessions, running at the end of each day as our social event to give participants an opportunity to network and digest the day’s learnings.
Short Talks and BOF sessions will be announced shortly.
